Beginner Series

Join us for this confidence building series. Perfect for anyone new to the sport who wants to learn where to ride and some fundamental skills, while in a fun and encouraging environment. We will ride a new trail each week and focus on one skill each week.

 

Things you'll learn:

- How to check and set up your bike

- Where to ride and how to plan your route

- Riding Stance and Balance

- Climbing

- Braking

- Descending

The sessions will start with 30 minutes of skill sessions followed by a trail ride to apply what you've learned (1 to 1.5 hrs of riding). Sessions will begin at 6:30 pm. 

Cost: $300 +tax for 4 session over 4 weeks.

Intermediate Series

Riding the same trails every week? Want to see new areas, and improve your skills? Participants should be able to ride 2-2.5 hrs, be comfortable on "blue" XC trails, and have at least 1 season of experience on the mountain bike. We will ride a new area each week and focus on one skill each week.

Things you'll learn:

- Technical Climbing

- Braking 

- Descending steeper terrain

- Cornering

The sessions will start with 30 minutes of skill sessions followed by a trail ride to apply what you've learned (~2 hrs of riding). Sessions will begin at 6:30 pm. 

Cost: $300 +tax for 4 session over 4 weeks.

Intermediate PLUS Series

You can ride any blue level trail at Moose Mountain with no issues, and are ready to start increasing your speed, and facing some of the black trails. However you want to work in that direction while feeling under control.

Things you'll learn:

- Confident line selection

- Increasing bike balance

- Experimenting with getting the wheels off the ground

- Body position for better traction

​

The sessions will have an emphasis on skill development with some time dedicated to applying skills to trails. Sessions will begin at 6:30 pm. 

Cost: $300 +tax for 4 session over 4 weeks.

Advanced Series

You can ride most of the Black level trails at Moose Mountain, but perhaps there are some holes in your game? Want to increase speed, be more confident in loose steep sections and read the terrain better? Perhaps, you have been mountain biking for years, but your technique is having trouble adapting to the new bikes and trail building techniques. This is intended to be a diverse group of supportive individuals who are ready to try some new things.

 

Things you'll learn:

- Advanced braking techniques

- Maximizing traction 

- Descending steeps

- Increasing speed through all types of corners

Most sessions will focus on skill acquisition through unique and challenging drills. At least one session will involve taking new skills to the trails.  Sessions will begin at 6:30 pm. 

Cost: $300 +tax  for 4 session over 4 weeks.

Intro to Jumps and Drops

Evening session to work on making people comfortable with getting their wheels off the ground.

We take an incremental approach, starting small and working within comfort levels.

If you didn't learn this stuff when you were a kid through trial and error this is your chance to figure it out in a supportive group setting.

Cost: $75 +tax

Cornering Tune-Up

Intended for intermediate to advanced riders who wish to break down their cornering technique and learn some drills to improve their speed and control through the corners.

​

The dreaded cones come out for some warm up and analysis and drills, then we take it to the trails.

We cover the following aspects of cornering:

- Balance

- Body position

- Traction mitigation

- Braking

- Where you should be looking

- Line choice

​

It sometimes starts with a little frustration but the supportive group dynamic makes for a fun rewarding session.

Cost: $75 +tax

Steeps Tune-Up

We all like going down hills, but when it gets steep we shouldn't be just skidding to the bottom.
Lets spend an evening working on some drills and techniques to improve control, steering and speed down steep sections of trail.
Suitable for intermediate to advanced level riders who are interested in making some improvements to how they ride steeper trails.

Cost: $75 +tax
